Chris Llewellyn CEO FIPP

Chris Llewellyn has been the president and CEO of FIPP since October 2009. He was formerly international managing director of Bauer Consumer Media (formerly Emap
Consumer Media) since 1998. After college (a degree in History, Politics and Maths), and three years marketing regional newspapers, he joined Emap in 1980 as a brand manager. At various times in his 29 years there he was marketing director of the Consumer Magazine division, group research director of Emap PLC, and between 1992 and 1998 he was based in Paris as director general of Emap France.

During his career he has had the honour of being appointed chairman of the Board of FEAP, the European Magazine Association, between 1996 and 1998. In 1999 he was appointed to the Board of FIPP and served as its chairman between 2005-2007.

Jim Bilton Wessenden Marketing and Brandlab Research.

Jim Bilton is the Managing Director of Wessenden Marketing and Brandlab Research. He has worked in a variety of roles in the publishing, research and distribution industries, covering sales, marketing, business planning, retail distribution & logistics, direct marketing, consumer research and general management. He was the managing director of both a newstrade distribution company and a subscription bureau. He has worked for the PPA, International Thomson, Comag, United Newspapers, Magnum Distribution and AGB Research. He sat on the various committees of PPA and has written for a number of publications including the Financial Times, The Guardian, Campaign, Media Week, Admap, Retail Newsagent, InPublishing, Marketing Week, World Press Journal

Alan Cox CEO Core Media Group

Alan Cox is Chief Executive of Core Media, Ireland’s largest media communications group. He began his career in the advertising business in 1985. He has worked in a number of areas including production, full service account management and media. Following four years as media director with Bell Advertising (part of Ogilvy & Mather), he was appointed managing director of Ogilvy’s new media company The Network in 1997 and appointed to the European board of the company the following year. In 1999 he joined Carat Ireland where he spent seven years until his move to Core Media in September 2006.

In addition to his work in advertising, he spent a number of years working as a radio presenter in the “pirate” days on stations including Radio Nova and Capitol Radio and retains a keen interest in the medium. He is a graduate of the College of Commerce and has served on various industry committees, including the Joint National Listenership & Outdoor Research bodies. He has just completed a two-year term as Chairman of TAM Ireland, the company that manages the Television Viewing Research contract.

Core Media has been voted Agency Network of the Year for the last two years at the Media Awards. In 2014 the company was also voted the best medium sized workplace in Ireland by the Great Place to Work Institute.

Lynne Springett, Insight Director, Time Inc. (UK) Ltd.

Lynne started her media career at media agency BBJ (now Vizeum) before moving on to join the Radio Advertising Bureau. She has been with Time Inc. for nearly nine years where she is now Insight Director and spends her days conducting research projects to help Time Inc. develop its expertise and authority on its audiences, markets and brands.

With a diverse portfolio of some of the UK’s most loved magazine brands such as Marie Claire, Ideal Home and What’s On TV, and working across platforms including print, desktop, mobile & tablet, Lynne’s role helps keep insight at the heart of the business.

Lynne is also co-chair of the AOP Research Group.

Kit Gould, CEO & Managing Director, IDG UK

Kit Gould has over 20 years experience in technology publishing and has successfully navigated the various user and market shifts in this area. From print to online to social
to mobile, he has introduced many ‘first to market’ solutions in the areas of vertical ad networks, social media, content marketing and programmatic and RTB buying. From 2001-2004 Kit launched and ran IDG Ventures Europe, a $100m early stage technology private equity fund and invested in many successful companies such as Shazam and Liongate. In 2005 Kit returned to IDG Communications, the media arm of IDG and launched the enterprise and B2B portfolio. Over the last few years he instigated and managed the launches of Techworld, ComputerWorldUK, CIO, CFOWorld, IDG Connect, IDG Marketbase, the IDG TechNetwork, the Strategic Marketing Services group and IDG’s RTB solution, the Technology Audience Platform (TAP). All of which now combine to form the largest and most respected tech media portfolio in the UK.
