Advertising Sales Manager, VIP Magazine Group

The VIP Magazine Group seeks an Advertising Sales Manager for VIP Magazine. Occupying a crucial role in one of Ireland's best known and most successful magazines, the successful candidate will manage the many clients that VIP has built up over the last 14 years, as well as generating new business for the title.

Applicants must have at least three years experience in Irish media sales, will have an excellent knowledge of , and a good reputation with, Irish advertising agencies and direct clients alike, and a proven track record of reaching sales targets.

The successful candidate will be offered an attractive salary, plus benefits, for building on the commercial success of VIP, reaching (and surpassing) agreed targets, and working as part of a small, dedicated sales team in the VIP Magazine Group.

Sales & Marketing Specialist – Chartered Accountants Ireland

Chartered Accountants Ireland is Ireland’s largest and longest established accountancy body in Ireland. With over 21,000 members, it is the leading voice of the accountancy profession.

This is an opportunity to join the Publishing team at Chartered Accountants Ireland (ICAI), based in Dublin 2. Chartered Accountants Ireland Publishing is a leading Irish professional and business publisher, and comprises the Institute’s extensive book publishing programme, including student textbooks, guides for accountants and other professionals, and the wider business community, as well as Accountancy Ireland, one of Ireland’s leading business magazines (current ABC 24,558).

Working closely with the Director of Publishing and the Managing Editor of Accountancy Ireland, the focus of this new role is to develop and drive revenue-generating opportunities media and copy sales across the Institute’s periodical and book publishing activities. Key duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Advertising sales in both print and digital media environments for ICAI periodicals (including our extensive ranges ezines services).
  • Marketing and promotions strategy and management for the ICAI book publishing programme, again in both print and digital media environments.
  • Managing relationships with existing clients and audiences as well developing new business; achieving target revenues from advertising, subscription sales and books sales.
    Negotiating advertising sales both direct to clients and through advertising agencies/media buyers in a B2B context.
  • Strategy and planning for promotions (direct mail, online and retail sales), campaigns to drive sales of periodical subscriptions, and sales of frontlist and backlist book titles to professional, business and academic markets.
  • Writing winning marketing collateral for ICAI publications; managing PR for new titles as launched, securing Press reviews, media interviews, etc., for authors.

The successful applicant will be innovative, self-starting, professional and used to working with and for blue-chip organisations. He or she will be a third-level graduate, ideally in disciplines such as marketing, business, etc., though the subject is not key. Qualifications should enable the successful applicant to deal confidently and discuss ICAI publications with decision-makers, and to communicate benefits to the professional and business audiences.

Specifically, the successful candidate will possess the following attributes and experience:

  • At least 4years’ experience in a similar or equivalent role (media sales and/or publications marketing), preferably in professional or business-to-business publishing.
  • Print and digital ad sales experience (ideally with B2B media), with good agency knowledge and contacts. (Experience of recruitment advertising sales would be an advantage.)
  • Applied knowledge and experience of digital marketing, including the use of social media.
  • Marketing and promotions of publications or information services (e.g. books, subscriptions.)
  • Strong key account management experience at manager to senior manager level, presenting to decision-makers, building client relationships, etc.
  • Experience and proven success in a sales target-driven environment
  • Devising and planning publishing marketing campaigns, particularly through direct marketing (including social media) in a B2B context.
  • Researching and developing new leads, both as one-to-one clients, and lists for direct marketing.
  • Using this information to manage a sales pipeline to deliver new business, preferably on a repeat basis.
