PPA Magazine Award Winners December 12th 2002

Mr John Donnelly, Chair of the Periodical Publishers Association of Ireland announced the winners of the PPAI Magazine Awards 2002 at a gala dinner at The Four Seasons Hotel, Dublin. Established in 2001, the PPAI Magazine Awards were created to recognise and reward the best Irish Magazines in a number of sectors.

Over 260 people from the publishing industry, representing 100 Irish titles, gathered at the event to pay tribute to the outstanding achievements of this yearís winners. Chair of the judging panel, Mr John Mellon is the former Chief Executive and Chairman of IPC and Reed International.

Joining John Mellon on the judging panel were Jimmy Kass, President of the AAI; Chris Cawley, President IAPI; John Keane, Chairman Ardmore Northern Ireland; Rosemary Allister, Chairwoman PR Institute of Northern Ireland; Laurence Rowe of Newspread; Gerry Davis, Chief Executive the PR Institute and Loretta Dignam, Head of Consumer Communications at Guinness.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the PPAI Mr. John Donnelly said he was delighted at the response and entries to this yearís awards. He noted that this year the number of entrants from last year had almost doubled to 104 this year.
